Are You Serious?

So I was watching Fox news yesterday and they had a report on a woman and her dog. The lady had recently been laid off of her job and found out that her dog needed a costly operation. Well the lady had no insurance for the dog nor money to pay out of pocket. So she went on her My Space page and told her story. I don't recall if she put out a plea for money or just told her story. But the money came pouring in to help her pay for her dog's surgery. There was even a woman who was a victim of hurricane Katrina and living out of her car that sent in money for this dog. Are you serious? There are so many worthy causes to give money to. The money could have gone to the hungry, homeless, to missionaries, an orphange, the Salvation Army, missionaries (or did I mention that one already). Anyway, the list is endless and it does not include animals who need surgery. Now I love animals, I have a dog myself. Before she belonged to us we took her to the vet to be cleaned and cured of a bite that she received from a large dog. The bite had become infected and the owners weren't doing anything about it. So I care about the care of animals, but I think that it is ridiculous that people would give the money for a dog before giving it to a human cause.
